Day 549: A Good Day

1 year, 6 months, and 3 days after first submitting my resume, I have been offered a job at Microsoft. A pretty darn good job, too, I might add. Of course, I didn't exactly sit on my hands during that time. I was consulting and took a permanent position during this period. I also went through 4 full interview loops on campus for full-time positions, 1 full loop for a contract position, and who knows how many phone screens.

For those who followed my exploits last year, you heard me say time and time again that "it's about finding the right fit" or "I'm not just looking for a job - I want the right job." Well, that's what I found. It took a bit longer than I anticipated, but it was worth the wait.

Enough of this dead air

If you've found this link, you've probably been reading the http://blogs.msdn.com/jobsblog/default.aspx blog at Jobsblog or digging through ancient texts on Bill Canning's blog.

If you're looking for specifics on my adventures while interviewing at Microsoft, I'm afraid the content is no longer available. However, I have recently started a blog called Life is Work, where I am trying to capture some of the core concepts I shared in 2004 and early 2005.

For a more comprehensive look at my background and current endeavors, you can skim through the content on my Squidoo page. (do you Squidoo?)
